The Best Spot to See Cherry Blossoms in Seoul

Spring's a beautiful time to go out and see the cherry blossoms in Korea. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one that thinks that.

If you go to some of the more popular cherry blossom locations in Seoul like Yeouido or Sokcheon Lake, the crowds will be massive. You won't be able to walk around, you won't be able to enjoy the scenery, and you'll regret why you even stepped out the door.

But fear not, I've got the perfect, spot for you to not only enjoy some of the largest cherry blossom trees in Seoul, but also avoid the massive crowds. All it takes is a short trip to Walker Hill Hotel and Casino.

Situated near 광나루역 (Gwangnaru Station) on line 5, this area of Seoul has been famous for its massive Cherry Blossom trees for quite some time. However, because the location is on the far east side of Seoul and a bit of a hike up a small hill, you won't find a crowd nearly as large as the ones you'll find in Yeouido.

Head straight from exit 2 of Gwangnaru station

To get there take line 5 (purple line) and get off at Gwangnaru Station. Take exit 2 and walk for about 10 minutes until you see this T intersection.

Once you see this intersection, turn left and head straight up the hill. You'll be walking through an apartment complex that's lined with Cherry Blossoms.

Cherry Blossoms! But don't stop now, keep heading up.

By now, you should be seeing some other visitors. Most will be heading up the hill toward Walker Hill. That's where we want to be going too so keep heading up!

These cherry blossom trees are massive

Keep walking along and you'll eventually see a large parking area for Walker Hill guests. Walker Hill does an outstanding job of maintaining its premises and it's open to the public to enjoy during the spring.

The Famous Pizza Hill

I gotta mention the well-known Pizza Hill that sits at the top. This place is legendary when it comes to their old-school style premium pizza but alas, I couldn't try it on this journey (Requires a reservation at least a month in advance)

If you're tired of the crowd but still want to enjoy the nice spring atmosphere, head out to Walker Hill and enjoy a nice relaxing day of hiking, cherry blossoms, and pizza (if you're lucky).
